Naughty And Nice

I don’t really do the ‘ugly’ sweatshirt thing, but I like to get T-Shirts every year. A couple years ago, I was shopping with my Mother in Law and we found THE perfect t-shirt for my husband. I was super excited when we then found one for me that almost matched his.

Then, just recently, Trixie Scraps released a kit called So Ho Ho Ugly. It really is created around all those ugly sweatshirts people like to wear, but it works for so many other Holiday layouts. I had fun creating this simple layout with it.

And if you know my husband, you know that he is much naughtier than I am . HAHAHA!

I know, I know…I need to get more creative with titles. Someday it’ll happen…someday.

SimpleGirlScraps needed some layouts to go along with one of the $2 Tuesday sales that happen at Gingerscraps. Because I’m new to her team, I haven’t had a chance to play with most of her kits – so I jumped at the opportunity. (Besides, I needed a break from all things related to moving)

It only took me a few minutes while looking at the kit: Enjoy The Moment to realize where I was going to go with it. About a week previously, the kids and I had taken a day out to be with cousins and Grandma, at a place that’s special to us. I made sure to get pics with my little sister. My shirt matched beautifully with the kit and I love being with my little sister cause we get GREAT pictures.

Keep in mind we had a 14 year old using the camera and a 12 year old playing with the phone.

Because I’m not busy enough as it is, I decided to try and join another CT. I’m crazy like that. I anxiously awaited an answer and was so happy that Simple Girl Scraps liked what she saw about me. The first kit I’ve been able to work on is called East Coast Life and because I’ve been to a real beach maybe 1 time in my life, I wasn’t sure what to use with it.

After thinking a bit more, I realized I had some pictures that I could actually use with this kit and then I danced a happy dance!

Imagination Movers

My friend blogs at A Utah Mom’s Life and had a giveaway with 4 tickets for The Imagination Movers show. We don’t have cable, but my kids have seen a few episodes here and there on vacation or at Grandma’s house. Youtube is also great ::cough,cough:: for videos.

So when my friend did the giveaway I entered. I didn’t pay attention to WHERE the show was at and I thought the date was later than it was and I figured I wouldn’t even win. But then I did and then I noticed the date and place. I would need Eric to come along with us. He does better driving in certain places than I do. To say he was less than thrilled would be an understatement. But, he’s a good guy and he knew the kids would enjoy it so he helped me out.

I kept it a secret from Nate and Ailey and they were kind of excited about the surprise, but also weary that it would be something stupid. We stopped and had lunch at Burger King and then we headed to the show. I was surprised at the location and the lack of people there, but it was also a good thing as I hate crowds.

We went to get the tickets from Will Call and discovered that we would also need a ticket for the baby! Thankfully they didn’t give us any grief about it and gave us the 5 tickets. Still unsure why they thought the baby should have a ticket.

Then Nate and Ailey saw the sign advertising the show and they were excited.
But then we had to wait for the show to start and they were getting tired and anxious. It had been a long drive for them and they just wanted the show to start. I was happy to see that we had great seats quite close to the stage.
When it started though, it was quite a show and there were smiles all around. They are very good entertainers and even Eric and I were able to enjoy the show. Daddy even gifted Nate and Ailey one of the DVD’s they were selling in the lobby after the show.
It was such a great day and Eric was even able to go serve his time at the game store afterwards. HAHAHA!

Easter 2016

Somehow it always happens, the Easter Bunny visits the kids. I’m surprised he keeps finding different hiding spaces.

So Easter morning the kids always set out to find their baskets….
I couldn’t get a picture with Jace where the bunny his his basket because he was too anxious to rip into the Peeps…
Hidden next to the tv cabinet…
Hidden behind the Disney Infinity Character Case…
Lex found his in the Linen Closet…
Shaylyn’s was hidden inside a tin canister on the countertop.
The coat closet was the final destination for hiding…
After church we headed to Eric’s mom’s house for dinner and we discovered that Uncle Greg had an egg hunt prepped for the kids. They were super excited.
And no trip to Grandma’s would be complete without her taking a bunch of photos, especially when there’s a baby around.
